One of the striking features of Windows operating systems is their ability to multitask efficiently. However, sometimes this mechanism falters and users are faced with very slow feedback timers and even prolonged periods of unresponsiveness. For example, to include all processes with the username windows, you can use the query '*windows*.'. Alternatively, one can specify a list of processes to terminate. The actual syntax is the same as for the @Dump command. If no given search query matches a process, Kill will simply return 0 without terminating it. This is the only action Kill performs. When users specify a search query of '-delete', this implies that Kill will not terminate a process that matches the given search query. To get a complete list of all matching processes, users can simply omit the query parameter and terminate all the matching processes. For example, the command 'Kill -query -delete' is equal to: Kill -delete Users can also terminate only selected processes. For example, the command 'Kill -query -delete ' will match all processes that have the name haslem.exe and will then terminate it. When there are more than one match for a given query, Kill will simply return a list of all matching processes. To get a list of processes matching a specific process, users can also include the '-pid' parameter.
